How will you know that death has occurred?

In order to ascertain whether death has occurred, you can check for the following signals:

• breathing stops;
• eyelids may be half open;
• heartbeat is absent;
• mouth may be open;
• pulse is absent;
• pupils are fixed; and
• the person cannot be woken.
