The Lachlan Palliative Care team are hosting an information day at the Cooke Park Pavilion on Friday, May 24 from 10am to 1pm.
A number of speakers will be presenting information between 11-11:45am.
The information day is to raise awareness of the services and support available to those going into palliative care and also to their families and support people.
We understand that death and dying is a difficult subject to talk about and engage with, but this year, our teams who work at the heart of Palliative Care have come together to bring the local communities an event that will be sure to inspire and start important conversations.
The Lachlan Palliative Care team, alongside NeighbourHood Central have worked hard to bring the services involved and good quality Palliative Care together for this relaxed and informal event so that valuable information can be gathered to help you and your family navigate the often complex world of health care – in particular Palliative Care.
Guest speakers such as Palliative Care Physician Dr Louis Christie and Kate Bowman from Palliative Care NSW will speak to the community about how Palliative Care can be beneficial for those who have a life limiting illness such as cancer, motor neurone disease and end-stage kidney or lung disease to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
This will be a non-judgemental, care-free and informative morning, so come along and meet the health workers and volunteers and the many others who contribute to the person-centred team approach to palliative care.
Come and meet us for a coffee, a barbecue and a chat with the theme ‘Matters of Life and Death’.
