Palliative care may be provided in a variety of settings depending upon availability of services, and individual choice. Settings include:
- person’s home;
- community-based facilities;
- residential aged care homes;
- hospitals;
- emergency departments;
- intensive care units;
- in person palliative care beds in hospitals or aged homes;
- accommodation for people living with a disability or mental ill health;
- correctional facilities; and
- community palliative care clinics and day centres.
